How Snap got his name
The day I got Snap was also only the second time Snap’s (white) Mom had ever seen him. He was two months old and his mom kept saying “Oh, SNAP!! my baby turned brown!”
Apparently, he had actually darkened up quite a bit since he was born. Seeing as I won’t really call him ‘Snap’ it makes for the perfect internet code name.

Introducing Snap, my new foster care son! He was born the first week of February weighing 4 pounds and change. He was 2 months premature but he is now a healthy 9 pounds and anonymous ounces.
His mom is half Jewish and half Italian; his father is from the Dominican Republic.

TOMORROW NIGHT I GET THE 'WHITE BABY'
Soo, I found out a few hours ago that I’ll get him tomorrow night. His name is Snap and he was born February XX, 2009. Yeah, not in November… Craziness!
When I asked specifically about when I would get him, the home finder set down the phone (but failed to use the mute button) and shouted, “HEY, does anyone know when she’s taking the white baby home?”. Classy.

just that there will be a meeting sometime next week and they’ll bring him over afterwards. it’s crazy! hopefully he won’t have 3 eyes and only 1 leg. but then, that could be cool too. :) thanks for your enthusiasm!

i received a voicemail message while i was on the subway which said “there will be a meeting next week and we’ll drop the baby off after the meeting”. i don’t have a single ounce more of information except that the child was premature. he must already be in foster care? i guess i let you know what happens next week. i have no idea whether i should drop the news on my...

- What? Seriously just like that they are gonna drop him off? Find out how premature he was born since that affects his development and milestones. I’m sure you know but if he is 1 month premature then he should be at a 5 month old developmental stage which normally holds true until infants turn 2.
