Jacket’s “uncle”

So Jacket’s mom’s ‘brother’ is everywhere now. In addition to coming to see me and getting computer help from Christian, he has been attending Jacket’s grandma’s visits with her cousins (in foster care) at the agency. The same agency around the corner where Jacket used to be. Since this guy is showing up at the foster agency, Jacket’s previous case worker asked me if I knew who he is and his full name- because a background check needs to be done.

Do I have his name? How about his whole fucking resume bee-otch!? Even better, Jacket’s mom left one of her over-the-top, demanding voicemail messages telling me to leave a copy of the resume at the foster agency for her to pick-up in the morning. Thus, I don’t have to even feel as if I’m breaking her trust. She is INSISTING that I deliver a document, with some random dude’s information on it which lists Jacket’s home address as his own, to Jacket’s former foster agency.

No problema.

When I relayed on the phone to Jacket’s former case worker the high school the uncle/boyfriend attended she said “That’s not a high school, that’s jail.”

Oh my god. Who the hell is this guy? And what the hell does he want from 35 year-old Jacket’s mom who frequently has her hygiene skills questioned, doesn’t have any money and is living in a 1-bedroom with 5 kids and 3 other adults already? My clinical supervisor at work thinks he must also be functioning in the range of mental retardation, but it doesn’t seem so. I mean, he’s not very bright, but he doesn’t seem that limited. Although, what 20 year-old needs computer help these days?

I can’t figure it out.

I did have a horrible flash that maybe he was/is a foster kid she picked-up in the waiting room at one of the foster agencies she visits her nieces and nephews at. That would be sooooo disturbing. But it’s likely that isn’t the first time it would happen.

The only good news is that Christian’s read was that he’s a good guy. My read is that he’s a punk (wears earphones when you’re trying to talk to him and always walks 10 feet ahead of us trying to not associate in public), but relatively harmless.
