I just spied on Jacket in daycare (they have a big window viewable by the public) and she’s in heaven. The other children are just babies compared to her, one or two years old. She’s almost four and has taken charge- leading the toddlers around and telling them what to do. I so wish she was in preschool.
I really can’t believe I got her into daycare in less than 24 hours. It’s so nice to not be in “the system”. They did need a medical and I still have a copy of one from last year that is valid. Nonetheless, I asked her mom for a more recent copy and as usual, I expected the unexpected from her.
I sent a text asking if I could put Jacket in daycare today and if so the need for a copy of her medical. Her response was (with corrections) “That’s ok, her daycare is in Queens” and then “How you still have my baby’s stuff. What else you have you not giving me?!”
So, I immediately called her. Explained that I was REQUESTING the medical and she eventually calmed down. She even tried to find it for me, but couldn’t.
I’m finally learning to ride the waves. Just as quickly as she freaks out she can also come around.
