how did i not make the super connection?

I’m just now realizing (thanks to you all) how much of a coincidence it is that I had to call the super with Jacket’s mom present.  I haven’t seen the super since Jacket and I moved in two years ago.  Jacket’s mom didn’t say anything and obviously I didn’t remember her previous concerns.  The super is white and cute which unfortunately, but conveniently, would have defrayed Jacket’s mom’s concerns.

Jacket’s mom has asked me to take Jacket for the weekend and the text messages are flowing in.

This morning “it’s ok to give her soda, that’s what she drinks”.  I’m assuming this is in response to the past month in which I wasn’t even allowed to give Jacket seltzer water because “she only drinks water”.

“Pick her up after 8:30pm tomorrow because the kids will be here”  This one is perhaps most disturbing to me.  I assume this means that the foster agency has approved unsupervised visits in the aunt’s ‘home’ which is actually Jacket and her mom’s home.  Jacket’s mom was able to portray (although no convince) the ACS worker (p.s. case now closed) that only she and Jacket live in the apartment.  I’m sure the aunt has told the foster agency that only she lives in the apartment with her boyfriend and they are equipped (look, Jacket’s toddler bed!) for their 4 children to come home.  At least this means that their drug tests are coming back clean, so that’s good.  If the kids get returned, that will be 10 people (that I know of) in the apartment.

“Don’t take her to the precinct” aka, I don’t want the detective asking Jacket any questions because I’m lying to everyone about everything.

So whatever.  Saturday is pool and BBQ day and Jacket wants to make another robot, only bigger.
