the status of the weekend

I received a text message from Jacket’s mom this morning saying that Jacket was saying that she didn’t want to spend the weekend. No problem. It’s likely true. Poor Jacket is really struggling with transitions. She asks for her mom and then when we’re on our way she cries that she doesn’t want to go home. Transitions are hard. Especially when no one can tell you when you’re actually going home.

Jacket’s mom asked to come over for lunch this weekend so we planned on Sunday.

Now, I have a text message that they are in my neighborhood (‘cause they were at the foster agency down the street) and they want to come over. I was on my way home anyway, so we’ll see if they’re still around when I get there.
