CARVING OUT A NEW DEMOGRAPHIC

Data from the NSFG describes the women who reported they were currently seeking to adopt as:

1.  disproportionately married (82 percent) -NOT ME

2.  and either sterile or with impaired fecundity (73% sterile)-NOT ME

3.  Two-thirds (67%) of these women were 35 or older-NOT ME

4.  and roughly the same number (67%) had had a prior birth-NOT ME

5.  More than three quarters of them (78%) did not have a college degree- NOT ME
