Day 2 of walking to daycare

Yesterday Mini-Me, I mean Jacket, insisted on walking to daycare with her Easter Basket trying to mimic my tote bag carrying self.  Today she demanded to take some sort of puppy-in-a-purse toy she got for her birthday.  We’re the only parent-child combo on the streets who aren’t holding hands.  It looks like even the 15 year-olds are still holding their mom’s hands but Jacket will have none of it.

In lieu of holding hands (unless we’re crossing the street), I have to walk about 6 feet in front of her to get her to walk in any sort of straight line.  At one point she stopped, put her hand to her ear and answered it, “Hewwo?”, like a freaking cell phone.

I had to wait, on the street, while my child had a fake cell-phone conversation with her hand.  Fortunately, no one noticed that I was late to work.
